The Thomas-Krenn Award

Our contribution of support for the open source community

Are you looking for new ideas on open source? Would you like to interact with experts in this field? Do you need assistance implementing an open source project? Then you've come to the right place! The Thomas-Krenn Award combines everything that is important for open source: an exchange of ideas, funding and further development. We look forward to your entries!

We support open source

Open source has long been an important topic at Thomas-Krenn. With the Thomas-Krenn Award (formerly: Open Source Grant), we support outstanding projects in this sector each year with hardware prizes valued at several thousand euros. In this way, we support open source ventures and contribute to a free, sharable and open IT community.

An independent jury decides

An independent jury, together with the community's vote, will award prizes to the three most promising projects. Information on the award announcement will be forthcoming.

Public vote – everyone can vote

In addition to the members of the independent jury, the community also receives a vote. We want to involve the open source community even more in the Thomas-Krenn Award and enable them to support their favorites. Supporters and users can vote online following the end of the application period.
