Why is Yorizon so energy-efficient?

Thomas-Krenn.AG received the “Blue Angel” environmental seal for two servers as early as 2022—making it the first server manufacturer ever to do so. As you can see, our team really knows its stuff! The server family for the YEXIO data centers is equally energy-efficient. Their technology is also designed to accommodate the latest chip technology available on the market—including even lower power consumption in the future. Future-proof and sustainable.

But there’s more: Since waste heat can never be completely avoided in computing, it’s only truly efficient if this excess heat is put to other uses. This is precisely the task our engineers were given by us for Yorizon. And they’ve delivered a true masterpiece: Up to 85 percent of the waste heat generated can be utilized.

This extremely high figure is achieved through the clever use of what’s known as hot-water cooling. Why water? As a cooling medium, it has significantly better heat transfer properties than air—specifically, up to 3,800 times better! Why hot? Because only hot water allows for meaningful reuse, such as in municipal heating networks. Combined with perfectly tuned air conditioning, this results in the best possible energy balance.

Why is Yorizon so secure?

Whether it's a small business or a large data center, hardware reliability is the first decisive factor for uninterrupted IT operations. This and the open source approach mean that the software and therefore the operation will be independent of large or even small foreign companies. Yorizon also offers a dual-vendor option, so that both enterprise-grade hypervisor and SCS-compatible open source software are available, supporting hybrid cloud, multi-cloud and poly-cloud system architectures.

Comprehensive perimeter protection and numerous other IT security components ensure that data always stays where it belongs. There are also no backdoors etc. with Yorizon. Yorizon - when can I use the secure and efficient cloud service?

Yorizon will soon be operational: the first YEXIO data center will open in Heiligenhaus (NRW) in summer 2025, with more to follow across Europe.
