We are a leading European manufacturer of customized server and storage systems. Since 2002, Thomas-Krenn has been known for its high-quality, Build-to-Order hardware, fast delivery times and outstanding service quality. Our customers include medium-sized companies, large corporations, small and large system houses, public institutions and data center operators. As a solution provider, we are a strong partner for hardware-related development in the industrial, contract manufacturing, product finishing and logistics sectors. Partnerships with global market leaders such as Intel, Microsoft, VMware, NVIDIA and AMD, as well as our commitment to the open source scene, ensure that our product lines always stay up-to-date and are compatible with all major operating systems and software stacks.

Every Thomas-Krenn system leaves our hands only after passing extensive, standardized tests and our production takes place exclusively at the Freyung site in Germany. At Thomas-Krenn, you can reach one of our trained and certified support staff at any time. In addition, our Austrian employees for knowledge transfer are happy to share their know-how with you in our Thomas-Krenn wiki. Qualified, highly dedicated sales employees together with colleagues from our Tübingen branch ensure that you receive the best possible service. Our story – How it all began

Our company started with an idea: Create a simple, uncomplicated online shop for custom server systems. Such shops were very rare when Max Wittenzellner and Thomas Krenn founded the company in 2002. Customers could individually assemble their desired server from high-quality components and order it with just a few mouse clicks. This eventually developed into our intelligent online configurator. What started as a good idea quickly became more.

Founded as a two-man operation out of a garage, Thomas-Krenn Serverversand GmbH (as the company was previously known) and its staff grew rapidly. Operations initially moved to the Waldkirchen Innovation and Start-up Center, but the company soon needed larger offices and production facilities. Short stops followed in neighboring town of Röhrnbach and a 1,250 square meter site in Freyung’s industrial park. At that time, the company was renamed to Thomas-Krenn.AG.  In 2007, the company found adequate space to accommodate future growth at its current location in Freyung. As early as 2012, the 2,500 square meter building had to be expanded to nearly twice its original size. Even after the two founders left the company in 2014, the success story continued. In 2017, Thomas-Krenn.AG opened a new branch in Tübingen, which actively supports the sales staff. The number of employees at Thomas-Krenn continues to rise steadily and – thanks to clever advance planning – the Freyung location will also offer enough space for expansions in the future.

At Thomas-Krenn, we put the customer first. Our mission of supplying customers with optimal solutions for their needs – whether in terms of hardware, software or expertise – eventually led to the creation of our in-house Thomas-Krenn wiki in February 2008. Here, our experts, including two Knowledge Transfer employees based in Austria, take on practical questions, provide step-by-step installation instructions or contribute background information on relevant server technologies. Gradually, Thomas-Krenn’s knowledge platform developed into a permanent contact point for IT technicians – with over 500,000 page impressions per month.

Today, we are one of the most successful manufacturers of custom server and storage systems on the market. And despite rapid growth, we have not forgotten our roots: Our headquarters are still located in Freyung, Germany, in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. This success is in large part due to our 130 committed and qualified employees – many of whom have been with the company since its inception. They form the heart of Thomas-Krenn.AG and their ideas help shape the future of the company.

FINANCE & CONTROLLING

Martin Schwarz

Martin Schwarz has been responsible for the corporate departments Financial Accounting, Accounting, Controlling and Pricing as Vice President (authorized signatory) since October 2021. He is the first point of contact within the company for all questions relating to finance, controlling, tax law and insurance as well as externally for auditors, tax consultants and banks. As the main person responsible for the annual financial statements, he is also responsible for the monthly reports, forecasts, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, budget and segment reporting as well as for diverse variance analyses and interpretations.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Nadine Maier

Nadine Hess is a manager at Thomas-Krenn.AG and is currently responsible for the digital transformation of the company. Her tasks include the optimization and automation of processes with the help of new, innovative technologies. Following her training as an IT specialist for system integration, she shaped the development of the hardware manufacturer in Technical Support and as a product tester while also playing a key role in the establishment of the Product Management department at Thomas-Krenn. Born in 1984, she is also responsible for the structure and further development of the product configurators. Outside of work, she devotes much of her time to fast cars and her dog Gaucho.

IT ADMINISTRATION

Stefan Roth

Stefan Roth, born in 1965, has been responsible for internal IT administration at Thomas-Krenn.AG as IT Manager since July 2019. His tasks include ensuring a highly available infrastructure, monitoring compliance with all IT security guidelines and organizing system administration. Furthermore, he acts as the central interface for all other departments of Thomas-Krenn.AG regarding IT projects. Stefan Roth was previously responsible for IT administration at Feinkost Käfer and Hirmer Eckerle Männermoden in Munich. In his free time he enjoys nature, working in his garden and helping out in the volunteer fire brigade.

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Bernhard Seibold

Bernhard Seibold has been with Thomas-Krenn.AG since 2004 – initially in Quality Assurance and later with management positions in Product Management and Systems Engineering. As Manager Systems Engineering and authorized signatory at Thomas-Krenn, he is now in charge of the development of custom specialized solutions. His pragmatic approach allows him to develop optimal solutions that are perfectly tailored to customer requirements. Born in 1979, he is married with two children. In his free time, he loves to explore nature and hike through the Bavarian Forest.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Florian Reihofer

Florian Reihofer started his career at Thomas-Krenn as an IT systems electronics engineer in 2006. Following further training, he became HR Manager with responsibility for the areas of personnel administration, personnel development, recruiting and talent management. His goal is to establish Thomas-Krenn.AG as the preferred employer in the region. Florian Reihofer exemplifies the motto “lifelong learning” to his employees and completed his training as a mediator in 2018. If he is not busy networking in the region, he enjoys excursions into nature and a quiet round of golf.

MARKETING

Simon Holzer

Simon Holzer has been Marketing Manager at Thomas-Krenn.AG since 2016 and is responsible for the internal and external communication of all services, added values and products. After completing his studies in media and communications management, he took over the Online Marketing department at Thomas-Krenn.AG in 2014. His tasks include increasing market reach, brand management and brand development, as well as the implementation of creative and innovative concepts. In his spare time, he can often be found at concerts and festivals or enjoying the great outdoors on a hike.

PURCHASING

Daniel Graimann

Daniel Graimann has been working as Purchasing Manager since 2023. The business economist (VWA) and B.A. is responsible for purchasing at both Thomas-Krenn.AG and Extra Computer GmbH. Before joining Thomas-Krenn.AG, he worked for many years as Head of Purchasing and Materials Planning at another medium-sized company. As manager of the Purchase department, he ensures that our stocks of goods and components are always sufficiently filled and that we can always offer our customers the best possible price. He enjoys spending his free time in the saddle of his mountain bike.

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

Florian Fritsch

Florian Fritsch has been with Thomas-Krenn.AG since 2005. His career with the company has spanned several stages. Having joined the company in Support, Florian Fritsch later took on the role of Technical Manager and now serves as our Operations Manager. As such, he is responsible for the optimizing the performance of the company’s production and distribution network. Born in 1983, he enjoys fishing in his spare time.

Guido von Klitzing

Guido von Klitzing began his sales career in the vinyl mail order business. After a variety of well-known professional stations, including IBM and Microsoft, he began his work as manager of the Sales department at Thomas-Krenn in the fall of 2023. Since then, he has been coordinating the efforts of our key account managers and sales consultants in order to consistently provide our customers with a competent contact and customized offers. In his private life, he has a great passion for heavy metal, online gaming and FC Bayern Munich.
