We play it safe before adding new products to our online shop. How? By not relying on manufacturer specifications, but instead testing every system in our in-house test laboratory down to the finest detail. In our test laboratory, every component is thoroughly tested: from compatibility with other components to various properties such as volume and heat generation, no part is included in our online shop until it has been examined by our experts.  
Mainboards

In order to ensure the compatibility of individual server components with each other, we not only examine individual configurations for their functionality, but also put numerous different system combinations to the test.  New motherboards are tested with the available operating systems, firmware and BIOS as well as with various chassis and all possible additional cards – from RAID controllers and SAS/10 Gbit switches to host bus adapters (HBA) and graphics cards. The fact that these numerous tests take some time is obvious, but our goal is not to be the first server manufacturer to put a new technology online, but to be the one that offers the best quality.

 

Drives

Drives such as SSDs and HDDs are not only tested for their compatibility with other components, they are also tested for performance using our specially developed open source software TKperf. Only drives that stand out in terms of speed are included in our portfolio and made available to you.

Controllers/HBAs

As with any new technology, controllers and HBAs are tested with various components such as additional cards, operating systems and firmware. In addition, the LED connectivity to the backplanes is checked. These tests take about two to three weeks. If no problems occur, the relevant controllers and host bus adapters are then approved for sale in our online shop.

 

Other server components

Our tests are not limited to controllers/HBAs, drives and mainboards. Every other server component is also subject to similar testing: from RAM and CPUs to backplanes and network cards. Each technology is tested down to the smallest detail to ensure that it meets our quality requirements and to guarantee the functionality of different server configurations. The tests are carried out according to a predefined pattern in order to avoid deviations and rule out errors. 

In other words: If a new product has been added to our online shop, you can rely on the full functionality of this server component.
