In this article, we explain the setup and the use of the Proxmox VE app, which is available on Android. The Proxmox VE app brings the web interface to your mobile device in a compact and clear way.

Initial setup

You can find the Proxmox VE app in Google Play.[1]. A version for iOS is currently not available.

After the installation, you will receive brief instructions on how to add servers.

This looks as follows:

Introduction for the addition of a server

Setup of the server

If you have a cluster of several servers, you have to add all servers to the app. Should one of the servers fail in the cluster, you still have access to the other nodes.

You can add the remaining nodes in the "Sites" tab, after you have added a node.

hint:As in the Proxmox VE web interface, you will have to log in again after a while.

Overview in the app

In the following, you will receive an overview with the most important functions of the Proxmox VE app.

Dashboard

An overview of all VMs, containers and access to the individual nodes. .

If you click on the node, you will receive information on:

  • console ("NoVNC" or "SPICE"
  • uptime of node
  • PVE and Kernel versions
  • processor
  • boot drive (root)
  • services
  • available updates
  • drives

Resources

You can also remove some information on individual VMs and change options.

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to change hardware of a resource (VM / container) in the app.

Access

All user accounts, which exist on the server / cluster and all "domains" and "roles".

Sites

All available servers, which were added to the app. It is also possible to add new servers.
