When integrating a Proxmox VE server into Veeam, there is currently a requirement that local storage must be activated. This requirement also applies if a storage other than snapshot storage has been selected.

Initial situation

- Veeam backup and replication console: 12.3 / Beta version 13.0

- Proxmox VE 8.4

- hint: The named versions refer to our test environment and may vary for your system.

Error pattern

When creating a Worker VM and Proxmox VE, the following error message may be displayed:

Troubleshooting

The reason for this problem is that the local storage is not activated under Proxmox VE. To solve the problem, connect to the WebUI of the Proxmox VE node / cluster.

There, go to "Datacenter " and "Storage".

You can then test the Worker VM again and it should now run successfully.
