The Proxmox Offline Mirror Tool enables the installation of software updates on Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server hosts that do not have any Internet connection. The tool manages local apt mirrors for all package updates for Proxmox and Debian projects. Based on this local apt mirror, an external medium (USB stick or local network sharing) can be created. Finally, this medium can be used to update systems that cannot access the package sources directly via the Internet.

Purpose of Proxmox Offline Mirror Tools

In some IT environments, certain IT systems are operated sealed off from the public Internet. These are often systems that have to meet very high safety standards.

Such systems cannot access package sources directly via the Internet. Therefore, it is not possible to install software updates directly.

The Proxmox Offline Mirror Tool makes it possible to create external media for such systems, which contain software updates for Proxmox VE or other Debian projects.
