Activation of Proxmox subscription

This article describes step by step how to activate a Proxmox Subscription Key in the web surface.

Prerequisites

A valid subscription key is required that suits the used Proxmox version. This can be obtained via our configurator:

Proxmox VE

Configurator - Proxmox VE (Ver. 1.*)

Proxmox Backup server

Configurator - Proxmox Backup Server subscriptions (Ver. 1.*)

Activation of subscription

As soon as the subscription key exists, the activation can be performed.

1. Log in to the websurface of Proxmox
2. Select the desired node
3. Confirm the process with OK.

The server ID as well as the latest status of the subscription are displayed in this view.

1. Click on Upload Subscription Key.
2. Enter the obtained subscription key.
3. Confirm the process with OK.

Proxmox validates the key automatically. When the validation has been successful, the status is updated respectively.

Troubleshooting

When the validation fails, it can be manually restarted:

• Click on Check in the Subscription area to reperform the validation.

If the activation is still unsuccessful, please check the following:

• Internet connection of the node
• correct Proxmox version of subscription
• complete and error-free key input
