Memtest86+ is a standalone memory test and provides a more thorough memory check than the BIOS memory tests. The test can be run directly from a PC BIOS (legacy or UEFI). The program uses various algorithms to reliably detect errors. Memory errors are one of the most common causes of crashes, freezes and instabilities. If you have such problems with your server, the first thing you should do is thoroughly test your memory.
Download Memtest86+
The latest version of Memtest 86+ can be downloaded from the website of Memtest.
Create USB stick
After downloading and running the installer, a USB stick can be selected as the target media and installed on it.

Start Memtest86+
To start the program, you only need to select the prepared USB stick as the boot medium, and the test will start automatically.
Select USB stick as boot medium in bios or boot menu.
Memory test then starts automatically
After a successful run, the message "PASS" appears if everything is OK
If you do not cancel the test, the next run starts (This is the 6th one)

Settings options
For a normal memory test nothing has to be set in the menu and the test starts automatically, nevertheless Memtest offers some options for the configuration. You can e.g. run only certain tests or set the CPU count.
You can enter the menu by pressing "F1".
CPU selection - selection between one or more CPUS
Test selection - specifies which tests should be activated and how many runs should be performed
Address range - specifies the lower and upper limits of the address memory to be tested
CPU settings - selection between single, parallel, round-robin and sequential modes
