Error: The following mistake occurs when calling up a resource within the Proxmox VE Web-UI: error:0A000086:SSL routines::certificate verify failed (596)

Solution: Restart of PVE-Proxy Services / Recreation of the Proxmox VE cluster certificates followed by a restart of pveproxy.service if necessary.

 root@PMX8:~# systemctl restart pveproxy.service

If this is not enough to resolve the issue, certificates must be recreated and the service must be restarted.

root@PMX8:~# pvecm updatecerts --force
(re)generate node files
generate new node certificate
merge authorized SSH keys

root@PMX8:~# systemctl restart pveproxy.service

Now, the mistake disappeared and calling the Web-UI and the resources is now possible again.
