To provide remote management features such as a web interface, KVM-over-IP, IPMI and Redfish services, most Supermicro X12 and H12 series mainboards are equipped with an ASPEED AST2500 chip. In this article you will find information about the network configuration as well as screenshots of the web interface.

Network Configuration

Netzwerk Konfiguration: Mode Share

The following network modes are available:

  • Dedicate - Web interface/IPMI are accessible via the dedicated IPMI NIC port (located above the USB ports)
  • Share - Web interface/IPMI are accessible via NIC port-1, the MAC address of the web interface/IPMI is switched to NIC port-1 as a second MAC address in parallel
  • Failover - If there is a link on the dedicated IPMI NIC port, it will be used, otherwise NIC port-1.
