Cockpit is a web-based graphical user interface for Linux servers. Cockpit is intended as an administration interface for Linux newcomers (including Windows administrators) as well as for experienced Linux administrators. Cockpit is mainly developed by Red Hat. It supports numerous Linux distributions, e.g. Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Debian GNU/Linux, Ubuntu and others.

Installation

In the following example, Cockpit is used on a Debian system. The installation is carried out simply via apt:

$ sudo apt install cockpit

Web interface

The following screenshots show impressions of the web interface. Cockpit's range of functions can be significantly expanded by installing additional components.
