This is the Alpha2 release of the i40e FreeBSD driver, it
is still development code and very much in flux, please
submit questions or problems to me (jack.vogel@intel.com),
but support will only be in the forthcoming driver versions.

This driver is for the new XL710 family of NICs.

Known problems:
It is critical that firmware be up2date, an old
version could actually result in non-functionality,
be sure you get the latest from your offical support
	channel.

UDP stress can actually cause hardware or system hangs
at this point it is to be avoided.

Stress testing in general is risky, be prepared for
	problems if you do this.

Limitations:

This is only a core driver, the VLAN support is not in
at this point, nor is multicast. Virtualization support
(a VF driver) is in active development but was not yet
ready for this release stage, it will be forthcoming.

Feedback:

If you have urgent functionality needs, making them known
to me could adjust priorities. While I do not have time
for a normal 'support' model, problem reports still will
help to get an earlier resolution so they are definitely
	appreciated.
