# Tandberg Data RDX QuikStation Network Configuration File: # # Use this file to manually configure the RDX QuikStation IP address to a static # IPv4 address via a USB flash drive. NOTE: If automatic IP address assignment # via DHCP is desired, no action is necessary as DHCP is the factory default setting. # # Upon startup, the QuikStation will display the current IP settings and address # across all LCD's. However, following initial setup and configuration, Tandberg # Data recommends that you assign a static IP address to the RDX QuikStation to # prevent inadvertent IP address changes of the iSCSI target. # # Follow the steps below to configure a static IPv4 address: # # Step 1: Obtain an available IP address and subnet mask for the RDX QuikStation. # Edit the following configuration statements to meet your network's requirements. # Since any line that begins with '#' is ignored by the RDX QuikStation, remove # the '#' from each modified line so the QuikStation can decipher the setting # changes. Note that if you choose to specify a static IP address, both IP and # SUBNETMASK fields must be "uncloaked" (GATEWAY is optional). # # -- start edit section -- # # IP=192.168.10.2 # SUBNETMASK=255.255.255.0 # GATEWAY=192.168.10.1 # # -- end edit section -- # # Step 2: Save this newly-edited file to the root directory of the USB memory # stick included with the RDX QuikStation. If the included USB stick is unavailable, # any USB memory stick with a VFAT file system will suffice. IMPORTANT: The name # of this file must remain network.conf for the RDX QuikStation to recognize and # process it. # # Step 3: Insert the USB stick into the USB port located in the center of the # front panel of the RDX QuikStation. The USB symbol on the center-front LED panel # will flash and the LCD's will broadcast the message "NetUpdate". When the update # process is complete, the LCD's will flash the message "PASSED" and the USB symbol # will stop flashing and illuminate solid indicating that it is safe to remove the # USB stick. Remove the USB stick. # # Step 4: To access the RDX QuikStation's web-based management console, enter your # newly-established IP address as the URL in a web browser using the following format: # # # # After accessing the RDX QuikStation's web-based management console, you can verify # the IP Address configuration, and also configure optional DNS server addressing # information. # # For further information, please refer the RDX QuikStation Quick Start Guide and/or # Product Manual.
