The highlights at a glance

The basis of Open-E JovianDSS is the 128-bit ZFS file system. It has been on the market for several years and is therefore fully developed and proven. This system guarantees not only the integrity of the stored data but also supports extremely high storage capacities. Open-E uses all of these advantages and supplements them with some useful enterprise features. JovianDSS is based on Linux and can therefore be seamlessly integrated into most existing IT structures.

Our hardware was assembled in cooperation with the technicians from Open-E. As a result, you can rely on the optimal performance of the system.
 

  • 128-bit ZFS file system:
    With the ZFS file system as the basis for JovianDSS, nearly unlimited file sizes are possible. Furthermore, the system can be expanded with new capacities at any time.
     
  • Support for SMB/CIFS protocol:
    The protocol for Windows environments also includes fully compatible access control lists (ACL) and active directory service (ADS) authentication, while snapshots enable direct access to old data versions.
  • High availability load-balanced:
    Cluster for NFS, iSCSI and SMB/CIFS The cluster provides utmost data security including failover functionality.
     
  • Off-site data protection:
    This feature enables asynchronous replication to local or off-site locations with consistent snapshots, secure archiving, encryption and buffering.
     
  • Native compression and deduplication:
    Physical hard drive use is significantly reduced thanks to Linux compression and inline data deduplication. 
     
  • Unlimited snapshots and clones:
    With the new Open-E JovianDSS, an unlimited amount of snapshots and auto-snapshots can be created. They allow for simple cloning, versioning and backups.
