Veeam Restore for Proxmox VE failed (No such file or directory)

There is currently a problem with the new Proxmox VE integration in Veeam, as the restore of virtual machine does not function. The problem is due to a certain setup of Proxmox VE with Ceph for which KRBD is used instead of the standard library.

This problem is indicated by the following error message during the restore:
