Der Preis pro Gigabyte hat den flashbasierten Speicher mittlerweile zu einem erschwinglichen Medium gemacht. Allerdings gibt es auch weiterhin deutliche Qualit\u00e4tsunterschiede und nicht jeder Speicher ist f\u00fcr Server und Storagekomponenten im Serverumfeld ohne Bedenken einsetzbar. Die daf\u00fcr geeigneten Laufwerke unterscheiden sich neben der Qualit\u00e4t auch deutlich durch den Preis pro Gigabyte. Deshalb ist der Einsatz von flashbasiertem Speicher als sogenannter Caching-Layer sehr sinnvoll. So wird der teurere Flashspeicher auch tats\u00e4chlich nur f\u00fcr Daten verwendet, die auch die Geschwindigkeitsanforderungen an die Storagekomponente haben.
