Sie ist damit zehn Mal schneller als Gigabit Ethernet. Allgemein ist zu sagen, dass sich M\u00f6glichkeiten der Verkabelung (direkt, \u00fcber Switch) und die allgemeine Funktionsweise bei 10GbE nicht von 1GbE oder anderen Ethernetstandards unterscheidet.<\/p>\n<h5>\u00dcbertragungstechniken<\/h5>\n<p>F\u00fcr 10GE existieren zahlreiche \u00dcbertragungstechniken f\u00fcr optische Verbindungen und Kupferverbindungen. Intel Marketing Programs Manager Brian Yoshinaka gab in den folgenden beiden Postings interessante Hintergrundinformationen zu diesen \u00dcbertragungstechniken: [<em>Hinweis: Beitr\u00e4ge im Intel Blog nicht mehr verf\u00fcgbar]<\/em><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list arrow\"><br><li>One Small Step for the Data Center; One Giant leap for 10 GbE: 10 Gigabit Ethernet on the Motherboard&nbsp;(The Server Room Blog, Intel, 09.04.2012)<\/li>\n<li>10 Gigabit Ethernet Update: Another Serving of Alphabet Soup&nbsp;(The Server Room Blog, Intel, 20.06.2011)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Anschlussarten<\/h5>\n<p>Bei der Bezeichnung der Anschlussarten unterscheidet man zwischen&nbsp;MMF (=Vielmodiges Vielwelliges Glasfaser, Multi-Mode optical Fiber) und&nbsp;SMF (=Monomodiges Glasfaser, Single-Mode optical Fiber), dabei gibt es folgende Schnittstellen mit folgenden \u00dcbertragungsmedien:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list arrow\"><br><li>10GBASE-CR Twinax Kupfer (bis maximal 7m)<\/li>\n<li>10GBASE-SRL 50 micron MMF&nbsp;(bis maximal&nbsp;100m)<\/li>\n<li>10GBASE-SR 50 micron MMF&nbsp;(bis maximal&nbsp;300m)<\/li>\n<li>10GBASE-LRM 62.5 micron MMF&nbsp;(bis maximal&nbsp;220m)<\/li>\n<li>10GBASE-LR 9 micron SMF&nbsp;(bis maximal&nbsp;10km)<\/li>\n<li>10GBASE-T Twinax Kupfer&nbsp;(bis maximal&nbsp;100m)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>\u00dcber Lichtwellenleiter (Entfernung &gt; 10m)<\/h5>\n<p>Diese Anschlussart \u00fcber&nbsp;SFP+ Netzwerkkarte&nbsp;bietet die flexibelsten M\u00f6glichkeiten der Verkabelung. Aufgrund der geringen maximalen L\u00e4nge ist diese Verkabelung innerhalb eines Racks zu empfehlen.
