Januar 2020 ist es wieder so weit: Zahlreiche Microsoft-Produkte werden aufs Altenteil geschickt, Microsoft stellt deren Support dann vollst\u00e4ndig ein. Doch noch immer haben viele Unternehmen Produkte im Einsatz, die schon seit Jahren nicht mehr weiterentwickelt werden, aber im Rahmen des planm\u00e4\u00dfigen Extended Support bisher noch mit Sicherheitsupdates versorgt wurden.&nbsp;Neben dem betagten Windows 7 auf der Client-Seite betrifft das speziell im Server-Umfeld Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 und Small Business Server 2011. F\u00fcr Microsoft Exchange 2010 ist es am 13.10.2020 soweit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wer diese insbesondere bei kritischer Infrastruktur jetzt noch einsetzt, sollte Alternativen parat haben und rechtzeitig damit beginnen, sie zu planen und auszurollen. Denn mit dem Ende des Produkt-Supports gibt es keinerlei Sicherheits-Updates mehr \u2013 somit ist jede Installation fr\u00fcher oder sp\u00e4ter durch Sicherheitsl\u00fccken angreifbar! Bei Exchange kommt hinzu, dass neuere Outlook-Clients nicht mehr mit \u00e4lteren Exchange-Versionen kompatibel sind. An einer Abl\u00f6sung f\u00fchrt also kein Weg vorbei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Alternativen f\u00fcr den Small Business Server<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Das betrifft auch den vor allem bei kleineren Unternehmen beliebten Small Business Server 2011, denn dieser basiert auf Windows Server 2008 R2 und enth\u00e4lt Exchange 2010. Ein Umstieg auf zeitgem\u00e4\u00dfe Server-Produkte muss aber nicht nur eine l\u00e4stige Notwendigkeit sein. So bieten neue Produkte immer auch neue Chancen. Sie erm\u00f6glichen es, mit den neuen Entwicklungen in der IT Schritt zu halten, um beispielsweise lokale Systeme in Verbindung mit der Cloud zu verwenden, mehr M\u00f6glichkeiten der Virtualisierung zu nutzen oder Software Defined Storage einzuf\u00fchren. In der Regel ist auch die Hardware, auf welcher die Systeme laufen, reif f\u00fcr einen Austausch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Was also ist zu tun? F\u00fcr kleinere Unternehmen, die kein Exchange nutzen, kann <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomas-krenn.com\/de\/produkte\/software\/microsoft-software\/windows-server-2019\/slide.editionen-windows-2019.html#tab-content-46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windows Server Essentials 2019<\/a> eine kosteng\u00fcnstige und moderne Alternative zum Small Business Server sein. Im Gegensatz zu diesem sind keine zus\u00e4tzlichen Client Access Licenses (CALs) auf User-Basis n\u00f6tig. F\u00fcr bis zu 25 Benutzer auf 50 Ger\u00e4ten sind n\u00e4mlich die Nutzungsrechte bereits enthalten. Windows Server Essentials kann damit viel genutzte Server-Rollen wie Dateiserver, Druckerserver oder Dom\u00e4nencontroller f\u00fcr Active Directory \u00fcbernehmen. Es ist dabei allerdings nur m\u00f6glich, einen einzigen Essentials-Server als Domain Controller im Firmennetz zu betreiben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr Administratoren bringt Windows Server Essentials 2019 eine gewisse Umstellung mit sich. Denn die Essentials Server-Rolle zur einfachen Administration entf\u00e4llt. Exchange 2019 stellt hierbei jedoch hohe Anforderungen an die Hardware, kostet zus\u00e4tzliche Lizenzgeb\u00fchren und verlangt auch Administratoren einiges an Know-how ab. Microsoft positioniert Exchange dabei immer mehr als Mail- und Messaging-L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr gr\u00f6\u00dfere Unternehmen ab 500 Mitarbeitern und legt KMUs (kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen) den Wechsel in die Cloud nahe. Nat\u00fcrlich werden auch f\u00fcr diese Unternehmen lokale Ressourcen und damit auch der Betrieb lokaler Windows-Server unverzichtbar sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Chance auf zukunftsf\u00e4hige L\u00f6sungen \u2013 auch lokal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Einer der Vorteile von gehosteten L\u00f6sungen ist ihre &#8222;eingebaute&#8220; Hochverf\u00fcgbarkeit. Die Systeme in den Rechenzentren von Microsoft oder bei Providern sind ausfallsicher angelegt und werden professionell administriert. Wer auch seine lokalen Daten und Anwendungen auf \u00e4hnliche Weise absichern will, ist beim Einsatz aktueller Server-Betriebssysteme von Microsoft nicht mehr auf Drittanbieter angewiesen.
