Performance advantage when using two memory modules
In a Dual Channel system, the memory modules are installed in two separated channels. Each channel has its own access on the Memory Controller. Due to the Dual Memory Channel design, the memory bandwidth is doubled. If you use a CPU which supports Hyperthreading (HT) and Dual Channel Memory, you can achieve a performance advantage if you use two memory modules instead of using only one module.
