Managing an MegaRAID Controller
This article will demonstrate various management options (Web BIOS, Storage Manager and Command Line Interface or CLI) for the LSI 9240/9261 controllers.
LSI Controller Management
Web BIOS
You can open the controller BIOS by pressing "Ctrl+H" when the controller appears during the Power-On Self-Test (POST) stage of the server boot process. Afterwards, you can select the LSI controller, which you want to manage.
Setting up a New RAID Array
You can setup a new RAID array from the Configuration Wizard menu option.
Select the Add Configuration menu option to create a new RAID array. Afterwards, choose whether the RAID array should be created manually or automatically.
Deleting RAID Arrays
You can delete individual RAID arrays from the list by right-clicking on the corresponding virtual drive. You will the menu option under Operations.
You can delete all virtual drives by selecting the Clear Configuration option.
Hot Spare
You can define one or more hot spare disks by clicking on a disk in the list. From there, you will have the option of defining a global hot spare disk and a dedicated hot spare disk.

Mega RAID Storage Manager
The Mega RAID Storage Manager is available for managing your controller under Windows. You can download the Manager from here.
You can log into this management tool using the same login information as for Windows.
Command Line Interface (CLI)
You have the ability to manager the servers controller with the CLI, regardless of whether under Windows or Linux. You will find the respective updated version of the CLI on our web site in the download area.
CLI References
MegaCli -AdpAllinfo -aALL
All of the available information (firmware, settings and so forth) about the controller will be reported by this command.
MegaCli -AdpEventLog -GetEvents -f eventlog.txt -aAll
You can write all of the events to a TXT file with this command.
